Speak Up and Give Your Viewpoint

The Bread and Butter Tour is a national series of town hall meetings intended to collect ideas from people about what governments should be doing in response to the current recession. It's looking for a different perspective from that of the bankers, brokers and all the other so-called financial experts who cut us out of everything. It's time to cut ourselves in.

Families and communities are reeling from the economic crisis. But so far all the 'bright ideas' on how to fix things have come from corporate executives, bankers and brokers - the same people who got us into this mess.

A People's Response project is attempting to bring Canadians from all walks of life into the discussion about the current economic crisis and the future of our country. It's a way for busy but concerned people like you to make your voice heard and provide our governments with a better picture of the real effects of the recession on all of us. It's also a way for us to ensure that our governments find solutions that work for everybody, every day.

This is your chance to tell your story. Let people know what you think. How is the recession affecting your family and community? What should our governments be doing to create jobs and help vulnerable families?

Winnipeg Town Hall Meeting June 9

One opportunity for you to do that is a Bread and Butter Tour Town Hall Meeting that will be held in Winnipeg on Tuesday, June 9, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Masonic Memorial Temple, 420 Corydon Avenue. If you're unable to attend this meeting but still want to make your opinion heard, or if you just want to see what other people are saying on this topic, visit the A Peoples Response Web site.
